Courses and Prices
Our Homestay courses are designed to offer a total immersion experience, combining language learning with social activities and cultural excursions. We mostly teach one-to- one, affording each student the maximum focus in a challenging and stimulating environment, but we also teach two-to-one (ideal for friends who want to learn and spend time together) and run courses for small groups. Let us know your needs and we can tailor a course for you.
Courses are usually designed to last for a minimum of one week, and occupy between three and six hours a day. The number of hours will vary according to your needs and also to your level. Please let us know your requirements, and we will make recommendations and fix a price accordingly.
Prices start from £1,100 a week, accommodation and all meals included
These are the types of course we offer:
General English
Ideal for students who wish to brush up their rusty school English or perhaps prepare for travelling or moving to an English-speaking country. We are happy to offer an additional cultural element and accompany you on visits to museums, galleries, theatres etc, or simply show you around our capital city.
Business English
Designed for professional people who need a high level of English to function in the workplace. Topics covered include the language of meetings, how to make effective presentations in English, and how to write coherent, well-structured emails and letters. Please let us know if you require English for a specific purpose (eg legal or financial English).
Academic English
Do you need help preparing for an exam? We can help you revise and identify problem areas, whether in reading, writing, speaking or listening. We have experience of preparing students for international exams, including IELTS, TOEIC and the IB.
Personal Tutoring
We teach a number of locally based non-native speakers who require general help with their English and specific help with the IELTS Life Skills exam.
Simon is also available to tutor GCSE English language and literature students.
Online teaching
Travelling to the UK is not always practical, and some of our clients ask for online lessons. This is particularly useful for business people who have to attend meetings or make presentations in English, and for students preparing to take an exam.
Prices for online and face-to-face lessons start at £40 an hour.
Group courses
We can accommodate up to three students in our house at one time. For larger groups we can help arrange accommodation in the local area.
